Subject: testing
Question I was taking 4-5 diazepam 5mg a day for 1 week. I stopped taking them 22 days ago. Why are they still showing up on a urine drug test.
Thaks,
Phil
Answer Hi Phil,
The active metabolites of diazepam have a much longer half lie than diazsepam itself. Their half life is about 100 hours. So it would take 500 hours before they are undetected unless you metabolize and eliminate slower. You are very close at 22 days to be clear of them.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
Eric Brandt, B.Sc. Pharm
