Question I was given cutivate cream to put on my 5 month old baby for a mild form of eczema. My question is: I am putting it on her, can I absorb any of it? The reason I ask is because I am breastfeeding. I know it is a strange question but I am making sure it is ok.
Answer Hi Sue,
You will absorb a small amount of it. But the amount is so small and the amount which will be secreted in breast milk is further so small that you need not worry about it. In terms of pecentages about 0.01 % of the drug that is applied to the baby will be present in the milk, this s too low to produce any effect. Rest assured that this will not be of any consequence at all.
