Pharmacy/Testim absorption

Question
QUESTION: I read that only 10% of it is absorbed.(from their insert) How can I increase the absorption? If I could double the absorption, I could use only half a tube per day. Will a rub down with rubbing alcohol after a few hours 'rejuvenate' the application causing more absorption? Will acetone, DMSO, or Methyl Ethyl Ketone increase absorption? But how toxic are they? How about a vigorous washing of the chest and upper arms with a wash cloth to cause a mild abrasion? What about using 'alternative application sites' like the forehead, behind the ears, between the toes...etc.? Is it really unhealthy to apply a little to the scrotum? I don't have a vagina (which I understand is very good) but how about in the nose?  Eyelids?  Thank you, Larry  (I'm an X-Ray tech)

ANSWER: Dear Larry

Absorption through the skin is very variable, The best area are the hairier skin types, especially the fine hairs found on most of the body. Relatively hairless sites on the hands and feet are not so go. The scrotum is a good site, I would not advise the nose hear as the mucus may interfere with absorption. DMSO may increase absorption anywhere.

QUESTION: 1)  Will a rub down with rubbing alcohol after a few hours 'rejuvenate' the application causing more absorption?

2)  What is the best way to double the amount into my system?
   Thanks,  Larry

Answer
Dear Larry

Rubbing alcohol applied to the skin could theoretically decrease absorption. Testim is absorbed through the fatty layers in the skin and alcohol can remove these fats thus decreasing absorption.

Increasing the amount absorbed will dramatically increase adverse effects of which the following are common.
   1. If you already have enlargement of your prostate gland, your signs and symptoms can         get  worse while using Testim.
   2. Possible increased risk of prostate cancer
3 In large doses, Testim may lower your sperm count
4 Swelling of your ankles, feet, or body, with or without heart failure. This may cause serious problems for people who have heart, kidney, or liver disease
   5 Enlarged or painful breasts
6 Having problems breathing while you sleep (sleep apnoea)
7 Blood clots in the legs. This can include pain, swelling, or redness of your legs.

Applying to larger areas of the skin will increase absorption more or less proportionately but you are playing with fire.
