Pharmacy/Glycine with statin

Question
Respected Sir,

I am taking atorvatstatin 10 mg for dyslipidemia. I find from the chemist that several pharma companies have started added Glycine with atorvatstatin. I saw a product Modplip Asg i.e aspirin and Gliycine added to atrovatstain. Can U tell me the precise reason why Glycine added to statin. I shall be thankful to receive your response. Thanx

Answer
Dear Prashant

With Modolip ASG the glycine is added to buffer (prevent the acidity) of aspirin on the stomach in causing bleeding, ulcertion etc. As far as I know it has nothing to do with statins in general but I could be wrong. Do you know of any statin that has glycine in it but no aspirin?
