Question
I believe I am in the beginning stages of Cystitis.  I have some Amoxicillin in the bathroom cabinet (not damp)that I was prescribed in 2007.  Is it ok to use?  Will it help?

Answer
There is no way to know whether amoxicillin that is close to 2 years old is or is not safe to use.  There is also to way to know whether or not it will be effective.  I would suggest that you discard it and see your doctor to make sure you do have an infection which requires antibiotics before taking any medication on your own that may or may not be safe and effective anyway.

Thanks

Barb Judge
