Question QUESTION: Do false positives appear in both urine and blood?
ANSWER: Dear Eve
Yes, they can and unfortunately both are very common although urinary false positives are more common due to the relative insensitivity of many tests.

QUESTION: My Dr. told me he discovered methadone in my system when he did a blood/urine tests. I asked him to re-test me because there was an error because I did NOT take any methadone. To my shock, it appeared again. Is there any test I can ask for to help fix this. It has to be something else I'm taking showing up erroneous. Thank You.
Answer Dear Eve
In the US false positives are becoming increasingly common and many of the experts on this site discount the validity of these. This is due mainly to the money grabbing attitude of many laboratories which are of very dubious value. It time that something was done about this but I do not know what. it seems this problem is mainly confined to the US.
