Question I have Periphal Neuropathy and take Endocet,Fentanyl patch and Lamotrigine. I took a urine test at the pain management cener I go to and today she said I came up positive for Morphine. I only take what is prescribed to me and have for 8 years.I took another test today but I am very upset with the positive for Morphine!Would any of the medications I'm taking make me be positive for Morphine? This is a new Doctor I'm seeing but the first urine test I took for her was fine so I don`t understand?
Answer Hi Michelle,
Endocet contains oxycodone. One of the metabolites of oxycodone is oxymorphone which is related to morphine. The lab test likely can not differentiate between this substance and morphine. Check with the lab that did the analysis to confirm my explanation.
Thank you for using Allexperts
