Question i understand that valtrex is for herpes. but my partener who i was involve with is talking valtrex and amox-clav. and he told me that he has a sinus infection in which i don't believe. but can that be true
Answer Dear Kathy
Amox-clav is often used for sinusitis but Valtrex - never. Valtrex can be used for several viral infections as well as genital herpes (which is probably its commonest use). You will have to confront him about this as both oral and regular sex without protection could lead to you getting herpes too. I think if he had another viral infection such as shingles he would be telling you the truth but it sounds very suspicious to me.
