Question My mail order presctription co. mailed me Verapamil ER 180mg tab, Where as my DR. Prescribed Verapamil 180mg
What is the diferance in the two and I believe Dr. did write prescription for original meds. I am not going to take intil I talk to the DR. office. It's mainly for migranes but it could be helping my blood pressure too.
I also take clonindine and hydrochoride to control BP. My blood pressure went up to 188/105. You can see why I don't take a chance on differant.
What is the rule for mail order Caremark to subsitute meds for another brand.
Answer Hi Theresa,
Verapamil 180 mg tablet dissolves in the stomach and is rapidly absorbed in the system. Varapamil 180 ER, has controlled dissolution and it takes over 8 hours to dissolve fully and get absorbed. the ER is used in place of normal tablet to avoid repeated dosing and possible failure to take the drug as directed.
Talking to the doctor would be a good idea before stating the drug.
I am not sure whether mail order of drugs is legal, the rules differ in every country and in the US in different states too. I will not be ableto comment on the legality of the purchase, I also doubt if the mail order firms operate under any rules, at all.
