Question
my dr. put me on diclofenac sod 75mg bid and nortriptyline 10mg q h.s  it does
not seem to be helping the constant ache in my joints ,neck and shoulders can
this dose increase safely? or is there something foolproof for fibromyalgia daily
pain?

Answer
There are no foolproof treatments for fibromyalgia pain.  If the treatment that your doctor has prescribed for you is not helping I would recommend that you talk to him/her about this.  Your doctor can then decide if it would be best to increase the dose of the medication you are on now or change to different medications.  There are many alternatives to what you have taken that could be tried along with possibly increasing the dose of one of your medications.  The final decision should be discussed with your doctor so you know what the risks of each choice are.

Thanks

Barb Judge
