Question My daughter is 15 years old and takes 20 mg of Lexapro daily for OCD and anxiety. It seems to help quite a bit, but she seems to catch colds, including sore throats and fever, quite often. Can Lexapro affect a person's susceptability to colds?
Answer Dear Eric
There have been no reports to my knowledge of Lexapro leading to depression of the immune system so doubt if Lexapro is the culprit. If this continues she may need a medical check up to see if she is immune deficient in any way. A course of vitanmin C 500mg per day will not go amiss.
