Why is my husband prescribed this for non-invasive prostrate cancer?

Dear Morven

It is usually used with another drug called leuprolelin to suppress testosterone (the male sex hormone) production from the testes. The absence of testosterone shrinks the prostrate gland making it more amenable to radiotherapy.
