Question
My blood pressure is 185/69, should I go to the emergency room? I am on Verapamil and I took my meds last night but I have had a blood pressure at an average of 173/81 for about a week now.

Answer
Hi Sharon,
Going to the emergency room is always a good option. I think what yu have is systolic blood pressure, which should have been controlled by verpamil, but apparently the dose is too low, you may have to increase its dose or change to a beta blocker.
