Question Hi Eric, I have been suffering from sciatica for over 7 years now. I use to only have the odd flareup but it seems to be getting worse these last few weeks and now my doctor put me on Flexeril. Is this medication going to be good for me for the long run. I do go for monthly massage and chripractor treatments. But some days it does get really bad that it is quite painful to even walk.
Answer Hi Donella,
Flexeril can cause drowsiness so you need to be careful or avoid driving or operating heavy machinery. You also need to avoid alcohol when takingthis medication. You can use it safely for flareups but I would avoid regluar use.
Have you considered accupuncture?
