Pharmacy - Diltiazem Capsules

Expert: Barbara Judge - 6/22/2009

Question
I just renewed a prescription that is different colors then my previously renewals. They were of two tone colors. This
renewal the capsules are all green with a number on capsule
is R2578, I asked druggist about this and he said it was a
different manufacterer.  Is this CORRECT.  Thank you for the help.  Julius Simoncic

Answer
A capsule with markings "R2578" that is dark green in color is most likely Diltiazem CD 240mg.  It is possible that your pharmacy had to change manufacturers because one company has several strengths of generic diltiazem CD currently on manufacturer backorder.

Thanks
