Pharmacy - Ankles,Feet,Fingers, and hands are Swelling

Expert: Dr. Ravindra Bhaskar Ghooi - 8/21/2009

Question
Dear Sir,I was wondering if you might know why my Ankles,Feet ,Fingers and hands were swelling really BAD.They are so swelled that they hurt when I walk and move around. My psychic doctor prescribed me on some new medicine about a month ago,he claims thats not making me swell, but the name of the medicine is::DOXEPIN HCL 100mg,taken twice daily for sleep at night only. Then he prescribed me EFFEXOR XL to be taken only in the morning.I was wondering if those meds or either just the DOXEPIN HCL 100mg made me swell like this .Both my Family DR.and my Psychic DR.says my BLOOD PRESSURE is average,it's always been good, even when I had my son 9 years ago. This bothers me because I don't have any idea what caused this, and was hoping you would or someone you knew, knew what was wrong with me...Thanks Lavonia

Answer
Hi Lavonia,
I would require some more details before I can make any comment on the same. I need to know your full history, all details of weight, height, age, number of children. What I need is detailed medical history. I agree with the doctors that with BP being normal this should not happen, Doxepin and effexor also do not cause these effects normally. I would like to know if you have any breathing problems.
Let me know this as fast as possible. If you find this site inconvenient write directly on my personal mail rghooi@gmail.com
Ravi
