Question
Hello Sir,
One of my friend is suffering from a condition wherein he has lost sensation at the outer side of his right thigh. Before discovering this loss of sensation he was complaining of moderate lower back pain, but later the pain subsided automatically and there was this loss of sensation. What must be the condition? And what exactly is the role of Nurokind Plus medicine which is been prescribed by the family doctor? Kindly guide regarding the same.

Answer
Hi Mandar.
It could be a lot of things. However one possibility is that a problem in the spinal column leading to pain. The possible cause is reduction of the intervertebral space, leading to compression of a nerve. This will cause loss of function of the nerve leading to numbness. Of course this is a possibility based on your description, an orthopedician, spinal surgeon or neurologist will be able to daignose it more correctly.
Nurokind is a product of Mankind Pharma and its capsules contain Vit. B1, B6, B12 Folic acid and alpha lipoic acid. The Nurokind Inj contains more or less the same constituents. These constitutents were considered neurotonic at one time about 20 years ago, but now it has been shown that they do not improve nerve activity in any way. The Drug Controller tried to ban these but some companies got a sty from the courts and that is why such products are in the market.
