Question I hope you can help, I have been taking 100mg Tyroxin now for two years as was percribed for me by a private hospital in Cyprus. I have now seen a general hospital GP. because of cramps in my legs and pins & needles in my arm. When I showed him my original blood test results he says I should not be taken this drug as the ready was only slightly above normal. Can you please tell me what this can have done to me over the past two years. Thank you
Answer Dear Barbara
Fortunately this drug will have done no permanent harm to your body at all and any symptoms caused by it will cease very quickly.
I do not really understand the "reading being only slightly above normal" - do you mean slightly below normal? Or was the blood test for thyroxine or TSH?
