Question dear sir,
aprat from ssri and tricyclic which is effecting more to body organs i mean to ask sexual side effects and in ssri medicines which medicines are creating less sexual side effects
Answer Hi Md,
Reduction in libido is indeed a problem with a number of drugs used for depression. There are a few alternatives to combat this and they are:
One would be to decrease the dose, which is not always possible without losing the therapeutic benefit.
Another is to plan to engage in sexual activity just before taking one's daily dose, which he said is often impractical.
A third is to try sexual stimulants like yohimbine, which can be frustrating because their effects are not consistent, or to give a second drug, like amantadine (Symmetrel), to counter orgasmic failure induced by the antidepressant.
Additionally you may try out different antidepressants, some people do well on one drug as compared to another, the trik is to find one that suits you best.
