Question I was taking metronidizol and another antibiotic (sorry don't remember the name) and ended up going to the Emergency Room because it felt like my throat was closing. They gaveme large dose of benedryl. I stopped both drugs. I had the same sensation in the following days and went back to the ER a second time and they gave me another dose benedryl. Since then my body hasn't felt the same. My question is have you heard metronidazol taken alone or with another antibiotic to cause this reaction? and have longer term side effects? I became nervous and anxious and my throat hasn't felt same again
Answer Dear j
It is most likely the other antibiotic rather than the metronidazole although the latter is possibly. Find out the name of it so you can avoid it in future, but because of the uncertainity metronidazole should be avoided too.
