Question
Does Glutamine, that's supposed to help heal the stomach lining, interact or hinder the effects of Nexium? I wondered because one is an amino acid and the other inhibits stomach acid.  Thank you

Answer
HI,
The excess acid which damages the lining of the stomach is hydrochloric acid (HCl). Nexium specifically blocks o decreases HCl oversecretion of HCl.  Amino acids are building blocks of proteins and are not affected by Nexium. Amino acids do not damage the lining of the stomach.
Thank you for using Allexpperts.
