Pharmacy/Gout medication

is the medication OXYCOD/APA 5-325MG (generic for PERCOCET 5-325)
used to treat Gout attacks ?

thanks and regards

Hi Darrin,
You are partly right. Oxycodone/APA is indeed generic for percocet, however this is not a preferred drug for gout. Oxycodone/APA is a general pain killer which may releive pain in gout but it is not meant for the treatment of gout. Antiuricosuric agents, like penicillamine used to treat gout are preferred.
All the best
