It's only propranolol 20 mg that can help acutely with my disorder associated with psychotic illness. Although I do take Olanzapine so as not to take Propanolol at higher doses but I've been on this for 3 years now, are there precautions involved with this drug ? or is it safe in long term like some anti depressants as I have heard...
Answer Hi Sam,
I have only seen propranolol used long term to manage angina and hypertension. There are no long term asverse effects when used for these indications. It should be avoided in asthmatics as it may worsen broncospasm. Also it may mask symptoms of hypoglycemia in diabetics.
Thank you for using Allexperts.
