Pharmacy/2 queries

Dear sir,

I have 2 wueries. Kindly guideme.

1. Which is correct method of taking azithromycin. Some says it should be taken 1 hour before meal or 2 hours after meal. Pl guide me.

2. Is it desirable for hypertensive and diabetic patient to take statin and baby aspirin eventhough his lipid levels is normal ?

I shall be obliged to receive your respibse.

Hello Harsvadan,
Azithromycin should not be taken on  a full  stomach, hence it may be taken one hour before  food (when the stomach is  empty) or it may be taken  2 hours after food, whenit is almost empty.
If your lipid  levels are normal then  a statin is not needed but an aspirin a  day woud be a good precaution  to prevent a  heart attack.
All the best
