Question
Hello,

I just completed my undergraduate studies and have a BS in Biology with a minor in Psychology.  I have been going down the Pre-Med path but have been second guessing that for the last year or so.  I have come to the decision that I want to be a pharmacist and am extremely excited about it.  I took the semester/year off after graduating to figure out what I wanted to do with my life before I enrolled in graduate/medical school.  Now that I know, I'd like to get a job in the field of Pharmacy.  When I graduate from pharmacy school, I want to work as a retail pharamcist.  However, I'd like to know what kind of job I can get in the pharmaceutical industry right now with my BS in Biology, preferrably in retail pharmacy.  Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi,Imran,
You could work as a pharmacy technician in a retail store. Hospitals usually require that you have a certification, but if you find a job where they are willing to train you, you can take the exam for certification in a few months of working. Certification usually gets you a higher rate per hour. I don't know what other job you could get in pharmacy without going to pharmacy school. Hope this helps, Mary
