Question I have been on the birth control pill Nordette (28) for about 6 years and have been happy with it.
Today I went to my yearly physical and I was given
Levlen (28) instead. I go to the health department because it is cheaper, they said they had switched brands, they also told me that Levlen was the equivalent to the Nordette I was taken.
I am nervous, I have not had any problems with the Nordette so switching is not easy.
I have looked but can not find the ingredients and amounts in either of the pill inserts.
I am hoping if you can tell me if they are in fact the same with different names, thanks.
Answer Hi R,
These brands are not available here in Canada. From what I was able to find on the Net they contain the same active ingredients in the same dosage strengths. You should not have any problems with the new brand.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
Eric Brandt, B.Sc. Pharm
