Question Hi! I started these pills from Loestrin 24 Fe but I'm not sure I'm doing this it right. First I'm not sure if I started the pills at the right time. I started it after my period ended and I think I was suppose to start when it happened. Would this matter much? I've also missed a pill saturday but i thought that i shouldnt take it so left it there. Do you have any advice on what i should do? Thanks in advance :D!
Answer It is often recommended that you start your first pack of pills on the Sunday following when your menstrual period starts, or on Sunday if that is the day your period starts. Since this could lead to a variance of 0 to 6 days in the first day of starting your first pack of pills it is also recommended that you use additional protection to prevent pregnancy for the first full cycle of pills.
As far as missed pills are concerned you should take the missed pill as soon as you realize you have forgotten to take it, even if it means taking two tablets at the same time the next day. If you miss more than 2 tablets, do not make up the missed pills, but continued the rest of the pack while using an additional form of birth control for the rest of the cycle of pills.
I would put your pills somewhere that it makes them part of your daily routine. Possible placing them with your toothbrush might be a good reminder if you wake up each morning (or go to bed) about the same time each day so you can take your pills at the same time each day.
