Question I am testing positive to Sympathomimetic Amines (Amphetamine Class) on my drug screens. I am taking Tenormin, Ativan, Felodopine, Hydrochlorthiazid, Fenofibrate, Esomeprazole, Metformin and Glickazide. I suspect the Tenormin. Please advise if any of these medications could cause this positive result. Thanks.
Answer None of those are known to cause a positive screen for amphetamines. Tenormin is considered a masking agent, however. If you did not completely list all your medications on the screening form you could have failed a drug test because of the use of Tenormin without adequate documentation.
