Question
Can Lexapro (20 mg) and Serenity (w/ Lithium, all natural) be taken together? If so, what are the possible side effects.

Answer
Hi Marissa,
Both the drugs affect the CNS, and hence an interaction is possible, makers of Lexapro advice caution while using any other CNS agent. Secondly Serenity contains a form of lithium on which not much work has been done, while interactions between plain lithium carbonate and Lexapro are documented, not much is known about this form of lithium. I would suggest extreme caution in mixing these two products and not to do so unleass your primary physician allows it. If any interaction does take plae, you physician should be able to tackle it.
Regards
Ravi Ghooi
