in that population, and disease management issues.

Question What meds are recommended for the elderly who have just turned a corner and are hallucinating, won't sleep, agitated, and threatening.
Answer Hi Linda,
There are a variety of medications used to treat the symptoms you described. It is first important to determine the cause of the behavior such as Alzheimers or dementia. The most commonly used class to treat hallucinations, agitation, etc are antipsyhotics such as olanzapine and quetiapine.
Of course, the patient needs to be seen by a Dr. for treatment and evaluation. Hopefully with the proper diagnosis and treatment plan, the patient will experience some relief.
