Question
Hello,
I'm a 37 yr old male, 5'11" and 230 lbs. I take Lipitor and Lisinopril hctz. I've heard some cons of Lipitor, but nothing specific. I have taken the blood pressure meds for 10 yrs. The Lisinopril about 5 yrs or less and other types before that(Micardis, Cardizem, etc) and the Lipitor about 3-5 yrs. Has it ever been better not taking some meds than to take them? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Mike,
The reasons for not taking prescribed medication are: if you had an intolerable or serious adverse rwaction to it, or the medication does not achieve its intended purpose, or was prescribed for the wrong indication.
If you have not had any adverse reaction and Lipitor has kept your cholesterol down then there is little reason to change. There are alternatives to Lipitor but none are risk free.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
