Question
"Hello,

Could 1mg of Risperdal, .5 mg of clonazepam, and 10mg of lexapro leave a person with no feelings? Would this be considered a lot of medication? Also could this possibly lessen the fight or flight reaction in a person? I currently am taking these medications and feel like I have no emotions or drive."

Answer
What you are experiencing sounds like it could be mild depersonalization, a numbing a feeling of disconnectedness from the world.

if you are new to the meds then the side effects may be temporary and go away until your body chemistry adjusts to them. Watch and wait, and discuss with you doctor.
Watch for signs of depression, or worsening of symptoms you have desribed.

It usually takes 4-6 weeks for drugs to take full effect.
The doses need to be adjusted discuss that with you physician.

Side effects from Risperidone may get worse if you take Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as (Lexapro) if you have confusion, difficulty in movement, dizziness, excessive drowsiness, fainting or falling spells, changes in mood, restlessness, or other unusual or troublesome side effects get into see your doctor right away. This combination is usually safe, the interactions between these medications are moderate to low.

Klonapin, will initially cause drowsiness, and can also worsen existing depression over time.

Please take care, and listen to your body.

Thank you.
