Question I have been back on methadone for 6 yrs again was on it for ten years before and was off it 5yrs.Since then I have transitioned with HRT . Since I went on HRT I had to increase my dose it helps for awhile then I need it go up again in a year or so for the meth to hold me.I have had my doctor give me ms contin for a very bad back injury a fall down some cocrete stairs and the ms contin and the meth together hold me fine. Is it all in my head or am I on to something my program like most dont have a clue the MMTP are just like the guy on the corner I know more then they do and they dont care about there clients. Please help with an answer if there is one people on HRT is a fairly new thing when it comes to meth clients.
Thank you Mysti
Answer Hi Mysti,
Methadone and HRT do not interact to decrease the effectiveness of either drug. You need to see a person who is skilled in prescribing methdone or change analgesic.
One alternative to consider is hydromoprphone.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely
