Question I've been taking the microgynon 30 pill the last couple of months and Friday past i forgot to take the pill. I only found out that i could still take it the next day but it was over 48 hours. I am now carrying on to take the pill (last week of it) but am i still protected? Thanks
Answer You should still be protected from pregnancy if you missed only 1 pill as long as you are taking you birth control pills faithfully at the same time each day. Most women who miss a single dose of pills experience breakthrough bleeding before they risk pregnancy. Of course if you want to assure both protection from pregnancy and protection from sexually transmitted diseases it would be advisable to use condoms as a backup form of birth control.
