Question Hello...Do you know what the refrigeration life of Nuvaring (internal birth control) is? The MD said two or three months maximum, but I can't recall which. Also, does this cause weight gain? Thanks.
Answer Hi Denise,
When refrigerated, Nuvaring is good until expiry date on the box. Once dispensed by the pharmacist and if kept at 25 degrees celsius or below, it can be kept for up to 4 months.
As with all other hormonal contraceptives, fluid retention and subsequent weight gain is a possible side effect.
