Question
Dear Doc.

I have pain and ache from the left neck down to my left shoulder and arm and i suspect it could be cervical spondylosis due to the cervical disc being dehydrated. The pain is almost a daily affair. I do simple exercises for my neck but it doesnt help very much.

Will Tramadol help to relieve this problem. What about Anarex containing Oprhenadrine Citrate and Paracetamol.

If so, can these drugs be taken on a long term basis?.

Do i really need to see a neurologist for this problem?

Your advice is very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Angeline Young

Answer
Hi Angeline,
First things first, you need to see a neurlogist. The doctor will advice you what sort of exercises you reqire. Taking drugs on your own will not be best option, since we really do not know the cause of the pain. Pain killers might help, but expert advice is clearly called for, since there could be other serious reasons for the pain.
