AboutBarbara Judge Expertise Outpatient pharmacy and general health. I have recently completed a Pharmceutical Care Certificate Program offered by Purdue University (Spring 1999 completion). I have personal experience dealing with terminally ill persons and their needs, as well as their families` needs. I graduated in 1984 from Pharmacy School and have been a Licensed Pharmacist since then. I have 18 years retail pharmacy experience. Prior to my pharmacy training I have 3 years hospital experience as a Nurse`s Aide.
Question I want to ask what pharmacy careers don't require standing long periods of time. I am planning to become a pharmacist but have trouble standing for long periods of time. Is there pharmacy careers that sit most of the time?
Answer While I am not aware of any careers in pharmacy that sit most of the time except possibly Nursing Home Consulting Pharmacy I would recommend that you research the Americans with Disabilities Act. There are provisions in this law that protect qualified candidates in most employment situations. I would talk to your doctor about your exercise tolerance and, if possible, talk to a lawyer about the Americans with Disabilities Act to see if it applies to you.
