Question I am a 23 year old male and I am currently taking Piroxicam 20 MGCapsules MLY once a day. I am going to my friends wedding on Staurday and I just want to know if it is ok for me to drink alcohol becasue of the pills and if so does it matter how much I drink? Should I skip taking the pill for that day? Thanks for your help. Nate
Answer Hi Nate
Alcohol and piroxicam do not interact directly, but prioxicam causes gastritis in some people, as does alcohol. They may have additive effects. I would suggest you keep some antacid with you (ranitidine would also do) in case you get burning in your stomach. Naturally I would advice you to drink moderately and not overdo it.
