Question I am a 23 year old male and I am currently taking Piroxicam 20 MGCapsules MLY once a day. I am going to my friends wedding on Staurday and I just want to know if it is ok for me to drink alcohol becasue of the pills and if so does it matter how much I drink? Should I skip taking the pill for that day? Thanks for your help. Nate
Answer Hi Nate,
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, there is a problem with mixing alcohol and piroxicam. Increased adverse gastrointestinal (GI) effects are possible if piroxicam is used with ethanol. There is a possibility of increased risk of GI bleeding with piroxicam. I would not recommend drinking, however, if you do...please do so in "moderation," and if possible skip the piroxicam dose that day.
