Question
1. What is the reason for weight gain for taking Seroquel? Does it increase the appetite? And/or does it have a hormonal/slower metabolism effect?
2. Does Lithium Carbonate cause weight gain as well? If yes, why?

Drugs which work through serotonin tend to make changes in body weight, this is because serotnin is also involved in hunger mechanisms. Drugs like lithium work directly without interfering with serotonin, hence do not have an effect on bod weight.
