Question I recently was given synthroid and lotrel rx's, Is it safe to take them in the morning at the same time? I have a terrible headache the 1st day of taking them together.
Answer Hi, Jenny!
It is alright to take them both at the same time. It is probably the Lotrel that is causing the headache. Lotrel is a combination of amlopidine and benazepril, both of which can cause headache. Fortunately, the headache should lessen and/or disappear with time as your body gets used to the medication. You could ask your doctor if it is OK to take acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Advil/Motrin (ibuprofen) for the headache. I cannot advise on which one to take since I don't know your complete medical history.
Hope this helps, Mary
