Ihave had 7 urinary test+ since dec.5th but the the sx of fever, chills, right mid-back pain started 3 days ago.
Answer Dear Sasha,
Congrats on your pregnancy! Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time with your kidney infection. The Keflex should start to control your symptoms after the second day or so. If you are still having symptoms tomorrow, then call your Dr.
There are not a lot of options for kidney infections in pregnant women. Some of the most commonly used antibiotics for infections of the urinary tract can be harmful during pregnancy (ie. Cipro, Levaquin,etc.). Hopefully the Keflex will work! If not, there are some other possibilities that your Dr. will share with you. The good news is that the second trimester is usually the best time for pregnant women to take medications. The baby is already developed and is not due any time soon.
I would drink lots of cranberry juice and start eating lots of yogurt so you don't end up with a yeast infection from the Keflex.
I hope this helps. I wish you and your baby the best!
