Question i! I plan to become a pharamcist..but i also plan to go to community college first...(i'm a high school senior)...is it possible to go to 2 years of community college and then transfer to a 4 year pharmacy school? do you think it is possible to complete all my prequisite courses in only 2 years of community college?...and will i even be able to be accepted to a pharmacy school after 2 years of community college?
here's a second question...
wat if i attended a calstate? when can i transfer to a pharmacy school?...so if i go to a calstate ( a four year school)...can i transfer to a pharmacy school after i do all my prerequisite courses necessary? For example...if i complete all my prerequisite courses in 2 years...can i transfer after that?...but the question i have..is that wouldn't that mean that i wouldn't complete the total four years necessary for a calstate to receive a bachelors?..
so...i'm kinda confused...would i be able to transfer and would pharmacy schools even accept me if i do only 2 out of 4 years of calstate or do i have to do the complete 4 years?
Answer You would need to ask the pharmacy schools you are considering attending these questions. Every pharmacy school has different requirements for prerequisite courses. Some are very liberal about accepting courses from other colleges and universities, others are not. I would make sure before taking ANY class that it is an approved course that would transfer in to the college where you intend to complete pharmacy school. Community college courses are often the most questionable. Before you commit to 2 years at a community college make sure all of those courses will be counted as full credit towards your intended major. It isn't that you can't transfer from a community college to another college...the big question is always with the new college count the courses you have taken and give you full credit for them. This will only be determined by talking directly to the college of pharmacy.
