Question
I have an inner ear infection that is not getting better with antibiotic. It is very painful.  I also have a 5 mo old daughter,  Can ear infections be contagious if they are viral? And if i am not getting better when should i go back to the doctor?

Answer
Hi
Ida,
you should go back to the doctor, espically an ENT (Ear nose and Throat) specialist, and have another comprehensive examination done on your ear, if your symptoms are still presisting, despite antibiotic treatemnt.
They may try you on special ear drops, or something else.

Ear infections are fairly common, and are not caused by a virus, but by various bacteria, and it is not transmitted from your ear to your childs ear. You don't have to worry about that.

Please take care, ask these questions to your doctor when you see them.
