Question What is calcium peroxide? Is it like hydrogen peroxide? It is in my toothpaste. Is it safe during pregnancy? I heard from my OBGYN that hydrogen peroxide is ok, but not sure what this is. Thanks!
Answer Hi Sue,
Calcium peroxide whe in contact with acidic medium of the mouth becomes hydrogen peroxide and releases oxygen. The oxygen release acts as a disinfectant to kill bacteria hrlps keep the mouth healthy. It is safe in pregnancy.
