Question I have been on mirtazapine 45mg for six months but as they are not working my
doc wants me to start on fluoxetine (which i have been on before and worked).
The doc said I should slowly come off the mirtazapine but I have reduced to
15mg every other day very quickly and havent had any problems. Is it ok to start
the fluoxetine? Or do I need a a few days with nothing?
Answer Hi Rachel,
At this point I would reduce the mirtazapine to 7.5 mg every other day for 1 week. Monitor the response. Then stop completely and start the fluoxetine if no adverse effects.
Thank you for using Allexperts
Sincerely,
