Question
sallam
i have been taking 20mg citalopram for about 6 months and then 10 mg for another six months  now i have withdraw
is it ok the way i with drew
kindly help me how to withdraw
mohammad yaqoob

Answer
As long as you are withdrawing from your medication under your doctor's care I would recommend decreasing to 1/2 of a 10mg tablet daily for 2 weeks, then 1/2 tablet every other day for 2 weeks, then you should be able to stop.  If you begin to notice any worsening of the symptoms that lead to your doctor initally prescribing the citalopram I would see your doctor as soon as possible to discuss alternate treatments.

Thanks
