Question
I have been taking blood pressure tablets since I was diagnosed in 2003 at the age of 23yrs. I have gone through a variety of different medications to control it and have now been taking coversyl/perindopril 4mg for approximately a year, during this time i have had a swollen left foot from my toes to my ankle. I would like to know if the drug I am taking is the cause of my painful swollen foot. I have been to my own GP and had a test for DVT but no cause has been found and I had not experienced this on other medication such as Ramipril 10mg

Answer
Hi Zoe,
Firstly I would like to know if you have only hypertension or also heart falure. Sweeling of ankles or feet is common in heart failure, but is not reported for Coversyl/perindopril. I would suggest a thorough examnation by your physician/cardiologist
