Pharmacy/drinking water while taking water pill

Question
Hi,
I am 54 and have high blood pressure and high cholesterol (271).  My doc has me on tenormin 25mg and a water pill and has added another ACT on top of that. I also take Lipator
My question is I want to lose 20 lbs, and I hear drinking water is good for that.  But is taking that water pill bad when I drink a couple of quarts of water a day?

Answer
It isn't bad to drink lots of fluid while taking a water pill unless you have some other underlying kidney, liver, or other disease that would make it difficult for your body to handle fluids.  You should talk to your doctor about starting on a weight loss plan that is appropriate for your overall medical condition before starting any diet.

Thanks
