Question
I am currently on 25 mg on Anafranil and would like to start Zyban to quit smoking. Will being on two anti depressants make me tired?

Answer
Not only do you risk increased drowsiness and lethargy from being on Anafranil and Zyban together, but you also risk the possibility of other side effects as well.  Both Anafranil and Zyban when given alone have the risk of lowering the seizure threshold in patients who have a history of seizures or who may have a head injury or some other condition occur while taking the drug that could place them at risk for seizures.  If the 2 drugs are taken together the seizure threshold is lowered significantly in some cases.  You should discuss the risks of taking these 2 drugs together with your doctor before taking them to make sure this is really the best option for you.

Thanks
